MASTER OF DIVINITY(M.Div)

The Master of Divinity (M.Div) program is designed primarily to provide skills and knowledge necessary for church leadership and the teaching ministry.  It broadens and deepens students’ theological understanding and equips them to function as teachers at an undergraduate (BTh) level.  This program will enhance students’ leadership and critical thinking skills and establishes a firm platform for a MTh and further theological studies

Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor degree from a recognised college or university.
  • Applicants whose bachelors degree is other than BTh, must complete all deficiency requirements assigned by the academic committee of LBCS or CGS.
  • Applicants whose native language is other than English must have passed TOEFL/IELTS examinations.

Graduation Requirements

  • Successful completion of 20 subjects
  • Successful completion of a 15,000 word thesis
  • Recommendation and evaluation report on character, spiritual development and ministry experience by the sending organisation.

MA IN ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

The Master of Arts in organisational leadership degree is designed to provide an educational experience which results in a qualitative change in the leader’s life, relationships and leadership practices.  It focuses on the specific needs and issues facing Christian leaders of organisations serving developing countries.  Some of the needs addressed by the MA program are: servant leadership, wise stewardship of financial and human resources, financial management and planning from a biblical perspective, assessing cultural and economic realities of the region the organisation serves, and strategic management in a world that is in constant change.

Entry Requirements

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A record of good academic performance (an undergraduate Grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale) which demonstrates proficiency to complete a master’s level program.  Students with a 2.0 to 2.49 GPA may be considered for admission on a provisional basis.
  • Letters of recommendation from pastors or academic advisor of previous study programs will strengthen an individual’s candidacy.
  • Proficient level of literacy in selected computer applications – Word, Excel, email and the internet is recommended.  This will also include appropriate levels of preparedness and commitment to on-line learning based on standards in the MA program.

Graduation Requirements

  • Successful completion of six cohorts
  • Successful completion of research project
  • Recommendation and evaluation report on character, spiritual development and integrity and effectiveness of Christian leadership by the sending organisation, pastor or leader.
